3.3.3. Views

The Find Assignments page has three different views available, each further extending the flexibility of this page by proving different ways to show the assignment data. After searching for an assignment, there is a Format as field which will allow you to switch views.

Issue planner

This is the default view for the find assignments page. It displays the data in table form.

Editable issue planner

This view greatly extends the functionality of the Find Assignments page. However, increased browser requirements are necessary. This page is designed to work in the latest version of Internet Explorer, Mozilla & Mozilla Firefox, Camino, Netscape, and Safari.

The editable issue planner displays the data similarly to the Issue planner, but allows you to change many of the assignment fields without even navigating away from the page. Tooltips are still available, and allow you to edit additional fields. In the editable issue planner, you can change assignment data, authors, editors, or even due dates quickly. The changes are automatically detected and made in the background.

You can also change due dates en-masse by clicking the check box next to several assignments, and selecting a new date at the bottom of the page. Click Change to make the change.

When any change is made, it is detected. A yellow light should indicate this to the right of the assignment (as soon as you navigate away from the field you changed by clicking into another field, or somewhere else on the page, such as a blank area). The yellow light will go green once the change is made. If for some reason the change cannot be made (for instance, if an assignment is locked, or in use by another individual), the light will turn red.

List

The list view allows you to print a list of assignments quickly. It will format the assignments as a list of titles.
