Advanced Searching

Advanced searching allows you to further tune the results of the Find Assignments page. Advanced searching is a very powerful feature that provides a lot of options. It is hidden by default to allow users to become comfortable with the Find Assignments page. All of the Quick searches above the search box can actually be duplicated (if not expanded) by the Advanced Search options.

Note: To access the advanced search options, click Advanced Search, contained under the search box. Clicking Advanced Search again will hide the options.

Most of the Advanced Search fields are self explanatory. However, some might need some clarification. All of the search options (unless otherwise noted) increase the restrictions of the search. For instance, typing something into the search box and searching for a specific section will limit the results to those that match both the given section and search text.

Note: For some searches, it isn't necessary to search for any search text. For instance, to search for all the assignments for a specific section, you could simply select a section and click search.

The In options allow you to change which text fields the search box will search. For instance, if you wanted to search just for a title that has a certain word, you can check only Title here, and enter your search text in the box above.

Issue

It is important to note you can switch which issue you are searching in by changing the issue here. By default, this will be set to the current issue, as defined in the admin panel.
