iWebPress: User Guide |
The content section is one of the few parts of the Add Assignments page that changes for articles and images. Please note: The status fields (explained above) can affect who has permission to edit these content fields. See the Status section above or the Permissions section for more information.
Articles
Flavour text
Flavour text is the short public description or preview of the article. This is sometimes also called the ?slug?. This field should be set so the web edition has a short preview to show readers before they click into a story. Many publications simply copy the first sentence of the story into this field, which is an acceptable usage of this field.
Body text
As the name implies, this is the body text or body of the story. In browsers which support [W]hat [Y]ou [S]ee [I]s [W]hat [Y]ou [G]et (WYSIWYG) editing, this box will provide standard editing features (such as formatting and spell checking). It is strongly recommended you use a browser with WYSIWYG capabilities. Supported browsers as of iWebPress version 1.0 include the latest version of Internet Explorer, Mozilla & Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, and beta releases of Mozilla Camino. We are working with Apple to provide support for WYSIWYG editing in Safari 1.3 and 2.0 as soon as possible.
Images
Default Caption
This is the caption for the images contained within this assignment. It will automatically be applied to each image you upload unless you set an override caption (which can be done on a per-image basis).
Image Uploads
You can upload up to four images at a time using this form. Simply select up to four images and click upload. You can repeat as necessary to upload more than four images. Clicking on an image will link to the full resolution image and allow you to download it (for use in your print publication)
The red arrows to the right of the images allow you to rank images (change the order of the images as displayed online). Click the up arrow to move an image higher and the down arrow to move it lower. You will see the image move immediately, reflecting this change.
Override default caption
To set an image caption on a per image basis, you can type text into this field. Be sure to click save to save the caption.
